MAPPER WITH GAS SENSORS
What is GPS ?
- The Global Positioning System (GPS) is a satellite-based radio navigation system developed and operated by the U.S. Department of Defense.
- GPS permits land, sea, and airborne users to determine their position, velocity and the time 24 hours a day, in all weather, anywhere in the world.
- The GPS signals are available to an unlimited number of users simultaneously. The GPS satellites can be used free of charge by anyone.
How GPS works ?
- GPS is made up of three parts: satellites, ground stations, and receivers.
- Satellites act like the stars in constellations—we know where they are supposed to be at any given time.
- The ground stations use radar to make sure they are actually where we think they are.
- A receiver, like you might find in your phone or in your parents car, is constantly listening for a signal from these satellites. The receiver figures out how far away they are from some of them.
- Once the receiver calculates its distance from four or more satellites, it knows exactly where you are.
Earth's Atmosphere, Temperature and Ozone Layer !
- The atmosphere of Earth is the layer of gases, commonly known as air, that surrounds the planet Earth and is retained by Earth's gravity. The atmosphere of Earth protects life on Earth by creating pressure allowing for liquid water to exist on the Earth's surface, absorbing ultraviolet solar radiation, warming the surface through heat retention (greenhouse effect), and reducing temperature extremes between day and night (the diurnal temperature variation)
- Temperature is a physical quantity expressing hot and cold. It is measured with a thermometer calibrated in one or more temperature scales. The most commonly used scales are the Celsius scale (formerly called centigrade) (denoted °C), Fahrenheit scale (denoted °F), and Kelvin scale (denoted K).
AIR ??
- By volume, dry air contains 78.09% nitrogen, 20.95% oxygen,[2] 0.93% argon, 0.04% carbon dioxide, and small amounts of other gases. Air also contains a variable amount of water vapor, on average around 1% at sea level, and 0.4% over the entire atmosphere.
- The growth and convergence of data, processes and things on the internet would make such connections more relevant and important, creating more opportunities for people, businesses and industries.
